What is Turnitin

Turnitin checks work you submit against the work of others. These can be from other student submissions, the web and online journals.

Each time you submit an assignment  to Turnitinit will produce anoriginality report. This report shows any text within your assignment that can be found elsewhere. This does not mean that the assignment is plagiarised. Turnitin may also find material in your submission which has been quoted and referenced.

As well as detecting incidents of plagiarism in assignment work, Turnitin helps to develop your writing skills.

All students at TGS from Year 9 onwards have a Turnitin Account. When you receive your laptop at the beginning of Year 9 you will create an account as part of the Laptop Induction Programme. Once you have your account it is a simple process to enrol in other classes
. Your account will exist until the end of year 12.
